BATTLING MOTHER NATURE AND ENEMY FIRE

This isn’t some arcade shooter where you just hold down the trigger in a perfectly blue, static sky. The developers went incredibly hard on the weather system, and it actively messes with you.

You’ll be wrestling your flight stick through brutal crosswinds, blinding rainstorms, and completely random lightning strikes. It looks drop dead gorgeous especially the way the rain actually pounds against the terrain below you but it fundamentally changes how you have to fly. A sudden gust of wind will actually throw your missile trajectories way off target. You really have to fight the elements just as much as the bad guys on the ground to survive a run.

BLOWING THE MAP TO ABSOLUTE PIECES

Forget about indestructible walls and boring static backgrounds. If you see a building, a massive bridge, or a chunk of scenery hiding an enemy squad, you can absolutely level it.

The physics engine here is incredibly satisfying. Pumping rockets into an enemy stronghold and watching the concrete realistically crumble into dust never gets old. Because practically everything reacts to your heavy ordnance, no two firefights ever play out the exact same way. You can literally reshape the battlefield on the fly, creating your own tactical advantages by blowing up whatever gets in your way.

TRICKING OUT YOUR PERSONAL GUNSHIP

A stock chopper is fine for your first rookie run, but eventually, you want to build a flying tank.

The game leans heavily into an RPG style progression system that lets you completely strip down and rebuild your bird. Swap out the armor plating, bolt on ridiculous heavy machine guns, upgrade your engines for tighter turns, and pack in high tech countermeasures to dodge incoming locks. It’s dangerously addictive. Tinkering with different loadouts to match your specific, aggressive playstyle gives the game endless replay value, keeping you coming back to the hangar long after you’ve cleared the early missions.
