LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens completely bridges the gap between massive sci fi world building and raw creative freedom. It takes the classic brick smashing formula you already know and injects some seriously heavy upgrades.
DITCHING THE LINEAR PUZZLE GRIND
Older LEGO titles usually force you down a single, boring path to solve a puzzle. Not here. The developers clearly took some heavy inspiration from games like Minecraft by introducing the new Multi Build system, and it completely blows the lid off how you approach obstacles. Instead of just holding down a button and watching a pre set animation, you actually get to choose what you construct.
You can literally build a massive laser turret, use it to blow up a barricade, smash it back into a pile of bricks, and rebuild those exact same pieces into a jump pad to clear a gap. It gives you a ridiculous amount of creative freedom. You are actively using your own chaotic logic to bypass locked doors and enemy squads. This completely opens up the level design, making a second or third playthrough feel just as unpredictable and fresh as your first run.
STRAPPING INTO THE COCKPIT FOR REAL
Remember those old on rails flying missions where you just nudged your ship left or right while the game did the actual flying? Yeah, those are entirely dead. The flight mechanics in this entry got a massive, much needed overhaul. You are actually in the pilot’s seat now.
The new controls let you break completely off the fixed track and freely barrel roll through massive, wide open space arenas. Getting into a frantic dogfight feels incredibly intense and surprisingly heavy. You are pulling off crazy acrobatics, dodging enemy laser fire, and ripping through the galaxy on your own terms. It easily delivers the most immersive and aggressive flight experience the franchise has ever pulled off.
