Finding a solid file sharing app for your phone usually means navigating a total minefield. You either get bombarded with unskippable ads every three seconds, or the developers hold the actual useful features hostage behind a ridiculous premium subscription. If you are entirely sick of that modern app store hustle, Seeker is going to be your new best friend. It is a completely open source, third party P2P client that just works. No strings attached.

THE TRUE MEANING OF FREE

Let’s get the absolute best part out of the way right now. This app costs zero dollars.

And I do not mean that fake “freemium” garbage where you hit a hard paywall after ten minutes of use. There are literally zero ads. Zero locked features. Zero premium tiers. It is entirely open source, meaning any developer can crack it open, learn from the code, copy it, or modify it however they want. It is built strictly for the community, and the creators have promised it is going to stay that way forever.

A HEAVYWEIGHT SHARING MACHINE

When it comes to actual peer to peer file sharing, this little app punches way above its weight class.

You get absolute, unfiltered control over your downloads and uploads. The search function is incredibly robust, letting you set up hyper specific filters and custom wishlists so you can hunt down exactly what you need without sifting through junk. Once you find a user hoarding the good stuff, you can literally just browse straight through their personal user directories. They even baked in automatic port forwarding via UPnP, which means you do not have to aggressively mess around with your router settings just to get a decent connection speed.

BUILDING THE DIGITAL UNDERGROUND

It isn’t just about silently grabbing files in the dark, though. Seeker has a surprisingly solid social backbone.

You can jump straight into active chatrooms or use direct messages to talk with other people on the network. It lets you easily add users to your list, tweak your personal profile info, and dig into other people’s details. It even handles full privileges support, so you can easily manage who gets access to your specific files. It brings back that classic, old school internet community vibe that we have been missing for over a decade.

Stop dealing with bloated, ad filled sharing apps. Grab the download, open up your directories, and start sharing the right way.
