Survival horror games usually rely on cheap jump scares, but Reporter 2 Scary Horror Game actually gets right under your skin. You step into the shoes of a gritty journalist trying to survive a completely wrecked, post apocalyptic wasteland. It definitely doesn’t waste time holding your hand. The second you answer a deeply unsettling phone call warning you about a cryptic “7 days” deadline, the psychological nightmare officially kicks off.

A CREEPY DEADLINE AND SLEEPLESS NIGHTS

The narrative hook here is absolutely relentless. You are constantly plagued by these bizarre, recurring nightmares featuring a terrifying girl who just will not leave you alone. Figuring out exactly who she is and what she wants drives the entire plot forward. You are essentially playing a desperate detective in a world that actively wants you dead, scrambling to piece together scattered clues before your time completely runs out. It is a fantastic blend of old school puzzle solving and pure survival panic.

VISUALS AND SOUND THAT GENUINELY STRESS YOU OUT

A horror game is absolutely nothing without a heavy, suffocating atmosphere. This title totally nails it. The developers seriously pushed the graphical limits to make these decaying environments feel sickeningly real. You will genuinely hesitate before walking down a dark hallway. Throw in some incredibly chilling background audio and brutal level designs that constantly ramp up the tension, and you are guaranteed to feel completely on edge the entire time. The touchscreen controls are also surprisingly slick. That is a massive relief when you are frantically trying to solve a puzzle in the pitch black while something breathes right down your neck.
