Firing off a strike from these outer lanes automatically snaps your fighter back to the middle. It creates this incredibly tense cat and mouse dynamic. You can bait a wild swing, hit a Quick Sway to slip right past their fist, and punish them while they are completely wide open. If your opponent tries to camp in the background, you can rip them back to reality with a dedicated Anti Oversway strike. Throw in variable jump heights, mid air blocking, and fluid Combination Arts that let you smoothly cancel normal attacks into custom combo chains, and the strategic depth goes entirely off the charts.

UNLEASHING DEVASTATING HIDDEN ABILITIES

Taking a beating is exactly where the real fun begins. The second your life gauge starts flashing that warning red, you gain access to massive Super Special Moves that can instantly steal a round. But there is an even bigger ace up your sleeve. Every single fighter packs a ridiculously overpowered Hidden Ability.

Normally, you only have a one in a thousand random shot of triggering this monster attack when inputting your standard super command. However, if you punch in a secret code before the match to activate Super Mode, you can manually drop this nuke on command whenever your health is critical. You only get one shot at it per round. If you whiff it, you are completely out of luck.

CLIMBING THE BRUTAL ARCADE LADDER

The arcade mode refuses to force you down a rigid, boring path. You actually get to pick your first victim from a lineup of four different brawlers. Once you survive that initial four fight gauntlet, the game tosses Ryuji Yamazaki at you in a tense, single round plot battle just to test your nerves.
